Does your young one seem to always have the wiggles? You’re not alone! Kids are naturally active beings. Their bodies are constantly growing and all of the built-up energy needs to be released somehow. Coach, and science enthusiast, John MacLaren partners with NEISD Community Education in providing a variety of opportunities for those wiggly bodies to not only release energy, but to also enhance sport performance, social skills and practice overall good sportsmanship.
Here are Coach MacLaren’s top five benefits of active kids: 1. Active kids tend to get into less trouble when they are busy releasing energy. Help your kids spend their time being active in a positive way like playing basketball, volleyball, swimming or training. 2. Overall better health. We all want a healthy life for our children. Allowing them to choose a sport or activity that interests them is a great way to encourage a healthy lifestyle. 3. They learn to set goals and become achievers. Encourage your kids to plan for their future by thinking about what they would like to accomplish in their lives and start them on the path to making it happen. 4. Parents get some time to relax. When your kids are active in summer camps, are busy playing on sporting teams or are engaged in an active life style it provides the opportunity for parents to have a few hours of relaxation that is often needed. 5. Active kids have more fun than kids who sit around. Who doesn’t enjoy making new friends, letting go of some pent-up energy and learning a new skill? Bring on the fun with an energy-releasing activity this summer!
