The first two weeks of summer classes held by North East Community Education at Cibolo Green Elementary were off to a great start for summer fun. Students from all over North East San Antonio gathered together to learn something new and enjoy various summer activities. Here are a couple students who’ve enjoyed their classes. Shelby Mays, 6th grade, is very much into Fashion and Design. She says she likes both designing and modeling and is even considering it as a possible career choice. Shelby is seen drawing free hand without using templates to create unique clothing designs in her Fashion Design class held by Fastforward Kids. Kyle Stephens, 4th grade, among many others, is spotted testing out the kite and stomp rocket that he built himself in Engineering for Kids’ Aerospace Engineering class. Kyle says “Engineering is fun”! Having the opportunity to launch the rockets themselves was an exciting experience. Many other engineering focused activities like straw rockets, parachutes and foam airplanes were also enjoyed throughout the week. The fun isn’t over yet! Next stop… Redland Oaks Elementary! Community Education will continue to offer a variety of fun summer classes for kids ages 4 and over during the weeks of July 11th and July 18th.
