Let’s first take a look at what a resolution is… A resolution is a decision. A firm decision. It’s a decision that springs you into action or not. While there are 365 days of the year full of decisions… one day in particular leave us feeling like we need to plan ahead. December 31st. The one day where we feel like we need to make a resolution, or two or three before the ball drops just to see how well we can stick to it throughout the new year. According to statisticbrain.com, while 45% of Americans usually make New Year’s Resolutions, only about 8% are successful in achieving their goal. On which end of the spectrum do you find yourself? While I wouldn’t encourage you to set yourself up for failure, I do encourage you to challenge yourself in 2017. Be specific about what you want to accomplish and how. Find a way to measure it, give yourself a time frame and be realistic. Let’s be real, not many of us can really travel around the world in a year. Lastly, write it down and post it in a place where you can be reminded daily. Whether you find yourself making plans, goals or resolutions to accomplish something big or small throughout 2017, be intentional about moving towards a better you. Resource:
